HighGold Mining Inc (CVE:HIGH) (OTCQX:HGGOF) continues to report high grade assays from its 15,000 metre (m) diamond drill program at the flagship Johnson Tract gold project in Alaska. Results from four new holes were made public on Thursday, from just six reported so far, and all four were characterized by high grade gold and other metals. The firm has completed 28 holes so far in the program, for 14,500m. READ: HighGold Mining continues to hit high grades with drilling at flagship Johnson Tract gold project in Alaska Resource expansion drilling at the main JT Deposit continues to deliver solid results of high-grade mineralization in these step-outs," said the firm's CEO Darwin Green in a statement. "We are equally pleased with the emergence of a significant thick zone of copper-silver rich mineralization in the footwall to the JT Deposit, in drilling done to follow up on last year’s late season discovery. "With only 6 holes reported so far for the 2020 program, initial results reveal promising developments at each of the priority target areas, including at the earlier stage Northeast Offset target. Three drills continue to test these targets in addition to surface crews advancing our regional exploration prospects." Among the highlights, two holes were step-outs to the 750,000 ounce gold equivalent indicated resource at a grade of 10.9 grams per ton  (g/t) gold) at the JT deposit. Highlight assays from these holes included an intersection of 20.1 meters at 11.5 g/t gold, 4 g/t silver, 0.5% copper, 3.1% zinc. Included in that 20.1 meter intersection was 4 meters at an impressive 43.7 g/t of the yellow metal, or 45.2 g/t gold equivalent (AuEq). At the Footwall copper zone, highlight assays included 14.2 meters at 2.7% copper, 1.0% zinc and 34 g/t silver, HighGold said. The firm noted that a large-scale regional program had been carried out across the 8,513 hectare project, including geological mapping, prospecting, soil and rock sampling in a bid to develop drill targets at other prospect areas for testing in 2021. Around 1,200 soil and silt samples and 600 rock samples were collected with results currently pending, while 23 line-kilometers of DC Induced Polarization (DCIP) geophysical surveying was also completed over the Difficult Creek and Kona Prospect areas. Preliminary geophysical results are encouraging, with additional data inversion and modelling work ongoing, said the company. Johnson Tract is a polymetallic (gold, copper, zinc, silver, lead) asset near tidewater in southcentral Alaska. It hosts the high-grade Johnson Tract deposit (JT deposit) and at least nine other prospects over a 12 kilometer strike length. Contact the author at giles@proactiveinvestors.com
