The only drug with full Food and Drug Administration approval to treat Covid-19 patients is getting dissed by the World Health Organization. A panel of 28 clinical care experts, four patient-partners and one ethicist said Foster City-based Gilead Sciences Inc.'s antiviral drug remdesivir — branded as Veklury — offers no evidence that it improves survival for Covid patients, reduces the need for ventilation, time to clinical improvement and other standards.
