Squaw Valley is changing its name to Palisades Tahoe. Critics had said its prior moniker was racist and sexist.

One of Lake Tahoe's biggest draws and most iconic ski resorts, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, will operate under a new name. Critics had charged that the word "squaw" was derogatory toward Indigenous women.
