Pegatron spends $14 million on land for iPhone production in India

Pegatron plans on setting up a manufacturing base in Chennai, India, gearing up to produce iPhone models in the second half of 2021 at the earliest.

Pegatron continues to prepare to shift some of its iPhone production to India, spending over $14 million acquiring land and securing rights to build a factory in Chennai.According to a source that spoke to the DigiTimes, the new site would primarily be used for iPhone production and could employ about 14,000 workers there.
