Kiran Rao, director of 'Laapataa Ladies,' openly discussed her collaboration with Aamir Khan, admitting to leveraging his star power shamelessly to boost the performance of her smaller-scale films at the box office. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rao emphasized her strategic use of Khan's fame to promote 'Laapataa Ladies,' which relies on every possible avenue to reach audiences due to its modest scale. The lead roles are played by Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Ravi Kishan, and Chhaya Kadam. Notably, the film was showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, with its trailer featured alongside Siddharth Anand's 'Fighter,' starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor. Co-produced by Jyoti Deshpande and based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami, 'Laapataa Ladies' is set for release on March 1.
