Shed misogynistic, patriarchal approach, decide gender violence cases on evidence: Supreme Court to judges

The Supreme Court on Thursday said that judges must desist from taking misogynistic and patriarchal approach by commenting on dress, behaviour, past conduct or morals of a victim in gender violence cases. The Supreme Court also strongly disapproved of courts venturing out to get parties compromise in rape and molestation cases by marriage between the accused and the victim.
