RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad's unrestricted access to aides and other political functionaries while serving jail sentences in four out of five fodder scam cases on Monday hit a firewall after the Ranchi administration deployed magistrates in three shifts at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences to ensure he does not violate the jail manual. The move came four days after TOI reported on how the former Bihar CM, who has spent 31 months of his prison term in hospital since 2017, routinely meets visitors carrying mobile phones in his ward. A photograph of one such meeting accompanied the February 18 report.
