SC sets aside HC order against U’khand ex-CM Trivendra Singh Rawat

TV journalist Umesh Kumar, who is now independent MLA from the Khanpur seat, had approached the HC in 2020, alleging that an amount of Rs 25 lakh was deposited in the bank account of a relative of Rawat — when demonetisation was announced in 2016 and Rawat was the saffron party’s in-charge for Jharkhand — by a Ranchi-based man who allegedly paid the money to facilitate his appointment as the chairman of Gau Seva Aayog of Jharkhand.
