500-year-old banyan tree discovered near UP's Narora plant now oldest in world

A joint team of scientists from the Botanical Survey of India, Prayagraj Centre and Babe-Bolyai University, Romania and a lab from Johannesburg, South Africa claimed to have found the world's oldest banyan tree at Narora in Bulandshahr district whose age has been estimated at 500 years through carbon-dating method.​
