A community Durga Puja in New Town, Kolkata, has decided to worship a Muslim girl, Nafisa, as Goddess Durga during Kumari Puja on Navami to promote communal harmony. The organisers aim to spread the message of unity and brotherhood, breaking societal divisions. This initiative follows a similar event earlier this year when a Muslim girl was worshipped as 'kumari' during Khuti Puja in north Kolkata.
