Rapist gets 20 years’ jail after mother reveals identity to girl’s kin

A 24-year-old man in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping an eight-year-old girl. The accused was caught when his mother confessed to the crime and revealed his name to the survivor's family. The incident occurred in May 2019, and the accused had tried to remove evidence. The girl was sent for medical tests, which confirmed rape. Initially, the case was filed against an "unknown person," but the mother's confession led to the arrest and subsequent sentencing of the accused.
