JMM insiders had been speculating Hemant Soren's wife Kalpana Soren to be his probable replacement in case he was arrested by ED in the land scam case, ever since party MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed made a surprise resignation on Dec 31, 2023.The 48-year-old MBA graduate, who largely remained in the shadows of her husband the past four years, was also photographed during a meeting of MLAs of the JMM-led coalition, which was chaired by Soren hours after he "resurfaced" in Ranchi this Tuesday afternoon.
