Jordan- AND nabs four drug dealers in Ramtha district

(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar. 31 (Petra) -The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) has arrested on Wednesday, four drug traffickers labelled as "dangerous" in a series of raids in the northern border district of Ramtha, in Irbid governorate.In a press statement, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said an AND security force managed to identify the whereabouts of several drug promoters and repeat offenders, who were at large, in a a raid carried out this morning with the support of the Ramtha police.On other security raids, 11 people were arrested, including four "wanted" suspects classified as "dangerous and armed men," the spokesperson said, adding that a warehouse used to store and package narcotic substances was seized.Moreover, security services also seized about 5,000 narcotic pills, 115 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 15 grams of heroin, half a kilo of the synthetic cannabis "joker" and an amount of hashish, in addition to two pistols, two hunting rifles and a quantity of ammunition, in the security raids.In a seperate incident, anti-drug agents and security authorities suspected a passenger coming to the Kingdom, and in searching his luggage, four bags containing two kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were seized, the spokesperson added.
