Iran's top diplomat writes to UN secretary general

(MENAFN)Iran's top diplomat wrote to the UN secretary general over an incident at the Natanz nuclear facility, terming it "nuclear terrorism" that he says "won't go unpunished.� The blackout at the facility was "dangerous, reckless sabotage� and held archfoe Israel responsible for it, stated Foreign Minister Javad Zarif in a letter to Antonio Guterres. The "timely and professional containment measures" by the staff at the facility in central Isfahan province helped avert "what could have been a human and environmental catastrophe,� he further declared. Zarif further stated that "The deliberate targeting of a highly sensitive safeguarded nuclear facility -- with the high risk of a potential release of radioactive material -- constitutes reckless criminal nuclear terrorism."
