Jordan- Health Ministry seeks to vaccinate 4.5 million people to reach 'a safe summer' � Hawari

(MENAFN - Jordan Times) AMMAN � Jordan is 'on the right track' in combating the pandemic as result of government measures, including Friday lockdowns and extended curfew hours amid the second wave, Health Minister Feras Al Hawari said on Thursday, pointing out that the ministry is considering measures to relax pandemic-induced restrictions.The ministry is monitoring the epidemic curves, which are declining, thanks to public adherence to guidelines, the minister said, noting that measures are subject to periodic review and could be amended at any time, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.   During his visit to Prince Hamzah Hospital, Hawari said that the number of COVID-19 patients under treatment in hospitals is less than 2,000, which is less than 60 per cent.He also added that the epidemiological committee has been restructured, pointing out that the panel convenes periodically.  Regarding vaccination, the minister highlighted that the vaccination centres see 'excellent' turnouts, noting that there are 100 vaccination teams. He added that the ministry provides training for 200 young people a week. The ministry seeks to vaccinate 4.5 million people to reach 'a safe summer', he said, calling on the public to abide by vaccination date and register on the vaccination platform.MENAFN22042021000028011005ID1101966130
