(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, April 27 (KUNA) -- 1951 -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Saeed visited Kuwait. 1960 -- Kuwait Oil Company's Ahmadi Hospital opened. It was named Southwell Hospital after a British town. 1990 -- Marshad bin Saad Al-Bathal, a leading traditional poet, passed away at age of 80. 2003 -- Ministry of Education introduced a new curriculum, national and civil education, for all grades with objective of strengthening citizenship and belonging amongst pupils. 2004 -- Ministry of Commerce and Industry opened Courtyard Marriott in downtown Kuwait city. 2005 -- Kuwait won membership of the UN standing committee for sustainable development, affiliated with the Economic and Social Council. Kuwait represented Asia between 2006-09. 2010 -- German President Horst Kohler decorated Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah a presidential order in recognition of his role in promoting bilateral ties and cooperation. Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad also decorated Kohler with Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order. 2010 -- Kuwait won the first international athletics championship for the disabled. The tournament, held in Kuwait, featured athletes from 12 Arab and western countries. 2015 -- Kuwait's Ali Al-Marri became vice-president of Badminton Asia for period of 2015-19.
