(MENAFN - Jordan Times) AMMAN – Interior Minister Mazen Faraiah on Wednesday met his Turkish counterpart S–leyman Soylu.Talks on the sidelines of the Istanbul-held 89th Interpol General Assembly meeting covered means of enhancing cooperation in fighting crime and counterterrorism, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.–Both sides also referred to their responsibilities as refugee-hosting countries.Highlighting the–deep-rooted– Jordanian-Turkish relations, Faraiah mentioned the need to continue building mutual partnerships, notably in the economic and security fields to serve the two nations' interests.He also noted the Kingdom's efforts to address the influxes of refugees, stressing that the Syrian refugee crisis has strained Jordan's vital services and security sectors.–He urges the international community to step up efforts to support Jordan to meet the need of refugees.–Soylu expressed his country's keenness on advancing cooperation with Jordan, mainly in the economic and security fields.The two ministers agreed to maintain contact and coordination on issues of mutual concern, Petra added.MENAFN24112021000028011005ID1103246846
