Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the A388 at Launceston on Wednesday 3 June.

Emergency services were called at 10am to the A388 near the Lezant turn off following reports of a collision involving a minibus and a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV).

A woman in her 60s from Callington and a man in his 60s from the Liskeard area, both travelling in the minibus, were sadly confirmed deceased at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed.

Three other people also travelling in the minibus sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the HGV, a man in his 60s from the St Austell area was uninjured. He will attend a voluntary attendance interview in due course.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall RPT alongside Collision investigation and scenes of crime officers and specialist Commercial vehicle officers attended the scene and the road was closed for several hours to allow a thorough investigation and safe recovery of both vehicles.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 232 3/6/20.
