GST: Centre's 2 options to compensate states

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council on Thursday held a crucial meet to deliberate on the ways to make up for the GST shortfall in states' revenues. Breifing the media after the 41st meeting of the GST Coincil, revenue secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey said that GST revenue has been severely impacted due to Covid and the shortfall for FY21 stands at Rs 2.35 lakh crore.
