Huawei Phone Sales Collapse, It’s Not Really a Surprise

Huawei really had a hard time dealing with all the sanctions in the United States, and which affected its business in other markets too, and unsurprisingly, this has contributed to a rather substantial drop the company recorded in Western Europe. According to IDC data, Huawei’s phone sales dropped from 6.2 million in the third quarter of 2019 to no less than 2.5 million units in Q3 2020, a decline of no less than 58.7 percent. This is a massive decrease, there’s no doubt about it, and the global health issue is another reason to blame for the whole thing. But on the other hand, the lockdowns happening in Western Europe actually helped companies like Apple and Xiaomi, both of which improved their sales year over year.
