'Severe geomagnetic storm' to hit Earth tonight with power and communication networks at risk

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) has issued a Severe (G4) Geomagnetic Storm Watch, marking the first of its kind since January 2005.
