Germany commemorated the 85th anniversary of Kristallnacht, or the "Night of Broken Glass," in which the Nazis terrorized Jews throughout the country. Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Jewish leader Josef Schuster spoke at an anniversary ceremony in Berlin and condemned the discrimination and antisemitism that still exists in Germany. The commemoration comes at a time when antisemitism is on the rise in Germany and across Europe, with many Jews living in fear and facing discrimination.
