In light of recent violence in evansville, members of the community are gathering tonight to discuss how to stop the violence.
The meeting hopes to come up with solutions to better the community.
Evansville residents and community leaders are encouraged to come out to share their thoughts on how to decrease violence, and better community relations.
"we wanted people to be able to speak openly and candidly about their feelings about the relationship that has been fractured between the police department and our community.
We want people to be able to speak openly about if they have relatives that are being targeted as gang members.
We just want to be able to come up with the proper solutions that way we can try to meet our city leaders in the middle somewhere."
The meeting is sponsored by fourth ward councilwoman connie robinson, several community organizations such as mothers against senseless killings, and church leaders.
The meeting starts at 5:30 at memorial baptist church in evansville.
