Chaos in Hawaii as an emergency alert was sent to people warning of a ballistic missile threat.

(VO - Officials are now saying that alert was false alarm.

(VO - The alert told people to seek immediate shelter.

(VO - Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard tweeted out a message saying, “there is no incoming missile to Hawaii and confirming the false alarm.

(VO - This alert comes as tensions between the United States and North Korea continue to rise, (VO - Over the rogue nation’s nuclear program and ballistic missile testing.

(VO - The North even saying that successfully testing a missile that could reach the U.S. (VO - Numerous members of the media and other users shared the image of the alert.

A correction was sent out 38 minutes after the initial message was sent.
