FBI Director Contradicts White House Over Porter Background Check
FBI Director Chris Wray contradicted the White House's account of Rob Porter’s background investigation.
The former staff secretary recently resigned after allegations of domestic abuse were reported by the press.
But Director Wray told the Senate Intelligence Committee that the bureau completed a partial background check on Porter back in March, and finalized the report by late July.
The White House requested a follow-up in November, and the FBI closed the file in January.
