Target says 'internal technology issue' caused system outage

Target faced a system outage, stopping customers in the U.S. from paying for in-store purchases.

According to Reuters, Target announced that its payment register are back online.

The company said in a statement the outage was caused by an “internal technology issue.” The outage lasted for about two hours and was not a data breach or a security-related issue.

Target assured customers that no guest information was compromised.
