At (time) it's time now for our (day) morning sprint here on good morning northwest... we will check in with chief meteorologist kristin walls in just a minute but first heres a look at todays top stories.

An officer-involved shooting saturday afternoon in toppenish left one man dead.

The shooting involved a toppenish police officer and happened about 1 p-m near north chestnut street and ellensburg avenue.

Authorities have not released the identity of the man or the police officer involved in the shooting.

No officers were injured in the shooting.

> a bicyclist is recovering after being hit by a car.

On sunday morning, kennewick police got to the crash scene near edison and clearwater.

The bicyclist was on the sidewalk when she was hit by a car leaving a parking lot.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the driver cooperated.

Police said she was not wearing a helmet.

> a search for two missing boaters in the columbia river has reached day three.

On saturday evening, umatilla county deputies say a man and woman were hanging on the back of a boat.

They were near bobby's beach along highway 730.

When they got back to shore , they were gone.

Several agencies started to search the water, and suspended their efforts until sunday morning.

The boaters were not wearing life jackets and have not yet been identified.

Also on the water this weekend.... a man in his mid-20s was seriously injured saturday after hitting a boat propeller.

Franklin county deputies called out to the accident on the columbia river near hydro island.

They say the man was climbing in the boat after tubing.

That's when the driver lunged the boat forward, throwing the man off.

He hit the boat propeller and was rushed to the hospital.

Deputies said drugs and alcohol were not suspected.

Kennewick officers arrested a suspected drunk driver after slamming into two parked cars sunday morning.

Around 3 a.m., police got a report of a crash near garfield street and 10th avenue.

Officers showed up and found a ford f-350 on its side.

Nearby, a van and a car were hit.

31-year-old nelson rios was believed to be driving under the influence and was arrested.

He was booked into the benton county jail for the alleged charge of dui.

> one family is without a home after it went up in flames sunday morning.

Two people were inside when the fire broke out on everett street and bombing range road in west richland.

After escaping, the flames enguled the home and an s-u-v.

The roof started to collapse and spread to the rest of the house.

Half a propane tank was also in the back yard.

It's not clear what started the fire.

You can finally bring your kids to the playground of dreams again!

Over the weekend-- the park celebrated its grand opening with aone million dollar facelift.

The 16-hundred foot structure replaces the old, deteroriating wooden park that was built in 19-99.

The new playground is made out of materials that resist both heat and splinters.... and features an open concept, all inclusive design.

And for you parents-- the new clubhouse at columbia park golf links also celebrated its grand opening over the weekend.

The new facility features a bar and dining area, a pro shop and a patio that overlooks the river.

The building replaces the old one that was condemned 20 years ago.

City officials say the clubhouse offers the public something that they previously couldn't find at columbia park.

If your looking for a volunteer opportunity this summer, you can try the wildcat neighboorhood farm.

The farm occupies ancestral yakama land.

The purpose of the community farm is to grow food and feed the community.

Volunteer orientation is today june 17th, at 10 am.

The orientation will be held at the farm on the corner of alder street and 14th avenue in ellensburg.
