Large-scale active shooter exercise in Butler County today

Eleven school districts and a dozen agencies will participate in a first-of-its-kind school safety exercise in Butler County Tuesday morning.

Nearly 200 students and adults will be on hand to help police, paramedics and other first responders practice how they would respond to an active shooter situation.

The exercise will take place from 8 a.m.

Until noon at the Ross High School and Ross Middle School campus.

HAPPENING TODAY - HUNDREDS GOTHROUGH ACTIVE SHOOTERTRAINING AT ROSS LOCAL SCHOOLDISTRICTS.NEARLY 200 STUDENTS, TEACHERSAND ADMINISTRATORS FROM ELEVENDIFFERENT SCHOOLS HELPED TOACT OUT THE EVENT.

SEVERALFIRST RESPONDER AGENCIES WEREABLE TO PRACTICE NOT ONLYGETTING TO THE ACTING SHOOTERBUT ALSO HOW TO GET FIRST AIDTO VICTIMS. EVEN THOUGH THISWAS JUST AN EXERCISE, ONEPARTICIPANT SAYS IT WAS STILLVERY EMOTIONAL."I don't think you could everbe fully prepared but to havesome kind of training andexercise like we had today.
