First court hearing for Fair Oaks Farms animal abuse suspect

3 happening today- a suspect in the fair oaks farms animal abuse case will appear in court for the first time.as we previously reported, the animal activist group called arm went undercover at the newton county dairy farm.the group released several videos showing workers abusing animals.edgar gardozo vazquez was arrested last month in connection to the case.news 18's isabella caruso is live in newton county this morning with what we can expect in the courtroom today, isabella?

3today is a bond reduction hearing for edgar gardozo vazquez.gardozo-vazquez is the only suspect that has been taken into custody in the fair oaks farms animal abuse case.i spoke with court officials yesterday who told me he has not bonded out yet and is still booked at the newton county jail.

3 his bond is set at 20,000 dollars cash and 10 percent permitted.that means he could bond out for 2,000 dollars.the 36-year-old was taken into custody last month on a warrant for anim cruelty, which is a class a misdemeanor.

And also torturing or mutilating a vertebrate animal, which is a level 6 felony.immigration customs enforcement, or ice, has placed a hold on him.a warning that the video you are about to see is graphic.

3this is the footage that was taken by arm during what they call an 'undercover mission.'

Arm said they had someone working at the farm undercover for three months documenting what they saw.as we previously reported, the sheriff's office said they are working to identify the person who witnesd the alleged crimes that did not report the activity.gardozo-vazquez is the only one of three suspects that has been arrested.there are still outstanding warrants for santiago ruvalcaba contreros and miguel angel navarro serrano.they are expected to face the same charges as gardozo-vazquez.
