C1 3 man was indicted today for her murder.

L3: now at 11 white loaded gun at great crossing a loaded gun was found today... at scott county's newest school.

L3: now at 11 white madison county school threat alexus sot tease good evening and welcome in, i'm tom kenny.

And, i'm veronica jean seltzer.

We begin with a major development in the high-profile savannah spurlock case.

For the first time since the missing woman's body was found in july...someone has now been charged with her murder.

A garrard county grand jury indicted david sparks, of lancaster...accusing him of murdering the 23-year old richmond mother of four who disappeared in january.

In our top story...abc 36's alex king has reaction from spurlock's family...who spent seven agonizing months not knowing what happened to her.

State police say savannah spurlock was last seen alive on january 4th leaving a bar in lexington with three men... one of whom was sparks.

Her body was discovered in july... buried in the backyard of sparks' parents' home in garrard county.

I spoke to savannah's aunt lisa thoma...who reacted to wednesday's indictment.

"'what i've learned in the short time in this part of this process is that it's long and things get delayed and things take time and the waiting that we did when she was missing was really hard and difficult and now this side of it from what we've already learned in the last month, this process is going to be very long and painful."

A tip led investigators to search the property where spurlock's remains were found...which brought the family both relief and heartache.

Lisa thoma, spurlock's aunt "it's been a really rough road.

I mean we celebrated her life and we've been really clinging to her memories but it definitely hits harder on certain days.

I think her boys are bringing a lot of joy to savannahs parents and to her grandparents as well."

Sparks meantime...has been in jail since his arrest last month.

Alex king, abc 36 news.

A student is accused of bringing a loaded gun to school in scott county.

Deputies say it happened around one this afternoon..

At the new great crossing high school.

According to school officials... a student told resource officers that another student brought a loaded gun onto school property.

Officers and school staff immediately began to investigate.

And within minutes the student was found, searched, disarmed and taken into custody.

School officials say by working with police..

They were able to take the student into custody with very little disruption to regular school activities.

L3:none white superintendent kevin hub scott county schools "we've got great partners with our georgetown police and they were already on site because in scott county we're fortunate that we have five school resource officers in the district and you know when we talk about school safety we always talk about the very best measure we believe is having great relationships with the students and staff" police say the student is a 15- year-old boy.

He is in the custody of georgetown police.

There is no word yet on charges.

A threat was made online against schools all across the country.

Several districts sent letters home to parents this week...assuring them the f-b-i found no evidence the threat was credible.

Still, many districts say they were prepared...and madison county says it was actually facing another threat today...one abc 36's alexus larson reports...the district was more concerned about.

L3 alexus: white "school's been back in session for less than two weeks in madison county and already it's had its first threat."

Early wednesday morning - the madison county school district heard about a threat made in a snapchat group.

Erin stewart from the district says the threat involved students from madison middle school - but the message never mentioned a particular school as a target.

The district says right away it got police involved.

After an investigation - stewart says officer didn't find the threat credible - but there were more police at schools...just to be careful.

"we are in charge of 11,100 plus lives of students and a couple thousand employees, that's nothing to be taken lightly."

"if students or parents hear or see anything that could be related to a threat, it's best to tell someone at your school so they can keep everyone safe.

Reporting in madison county, alexus larson, abc36 news."

Right now, police are searching for a suspect... after a shooting near bluegrass community and technical college on newtown pike.

According to investigators..

Shots were fired in the parking lot across the street from the b-c-t-c campus.

Officers say bullets hit a pickup truck in the area at least twice.

Investigators say the shooting does not appear random.

And according to police.

The college did 'not' go on lockdown.

Two men police say caused three anderson county schools to go into lockdown tuesday are out of jail.

Full mug:suspects in schools "scare" released anderson county zachary king kyle knight zachary king.jpg kyle knight.jpg <none> <none> according to the anderson news...zachary king and kyle knight were released today.

Anderson high...middle and saffell street elementary went on temporary lockdown after someone called police to say two men with a gun were in the area acting suspiciously..

Police say both were found at a nearby house...and one of them was carrying a b-b pistol in a holster.

We now know the name of a two-year- old girl, who died at u-k hospital... after police say she was assaulted by a mccreary county man... who was supposed to be taking care of her.

The coroner says she was kimber collins.

State police say 27-year-old michael huff, of whitley city, is now charged in the death of the toddler.

State police say she was taken to a hospital in somerset on sunday, with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say she was then transferred to u-k hospital in lexington where she died last night.

The coroner says she died of blunt force trauma.

The laurel county sheriff's office is looking into the death of a lexington man.

The body of 51- year-old terry hammons was found by a family member this morning at a home off high more road near london.

There will be an autopsy.
