David Ortiz Throws First Pitch for Red Sox Months After Shooting
Ortiz surprised fans when he threw out the
ceremonial first pitch at Fenway Park.
Boston played their final game
of the season against the rival
New York Yankees on Monday night.
It was Ortiz's first
since being shot in June.
The former Red Sox star was shot in the back at
a club in the Dominican Republic on June 9.
Ortiz addressed the Boston crowd before
he threw the first pitch to former
Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek.

Police have determined that a
hit man shot Ortiz by mistake.
Ortiz underwent three surgeries where he had
some of his intestines and gallbladder removed.
