VARIOUS OF KIPCHOGE RUNNING WITH OTHERS STORY: Kenyan long distance runner Eliud Kipchoge arrived in the Austrian capital Vienna on Tuesday (October 8) ahead of his valiant attempt to break the long coveted two hour barrier in the men's marathon.
After a warm send-off from fans at Nairobi airport, Kipchoge arrived in Vienna feeling confident that this time, history beckons.
Coach Patrick Sang dismissed the mounting pressure on Kipchoge with the sporting world following the attempt closely, saying pressure can help push his runner that extra yard.
Kipchoge took a quick tour of the course from inside his vehicle as organisers were setting up barriers for the attempt, tentatively scheduled for Saturday (October 12).
The run time, which will include a number of pacemakers, won't be confirmed until weather and performance experts deem conditions optimum for Kipchoge in a bid to boost his chances for success.
