Hicksville police investigating two arsons set hours apart

Hicksville police need help solving two arsons tonight.

Both happened early friday morning ... now investigators tell fox 55 those fires might be connected to several car thefts.fox 55's cody butler has more.

Contractors spending the day cleaning debris after the ohio fire marshal says a fire was set here early friday morning.

John saylors' company helps with fire cleanup in the area.

He says he's been a little more busy in recent years.

Police say no one was living in the house when the fire started around 5 friday morning.just a half hour after the fire ... this van was reported stolen.it was found by noon on the state line ... after someone set fire to the inside.now hicksville police chief mark denning is thinking these fires are connected to other crimes.denning says the small department is already trying to figure out who is behind several vehicle thefts.

In the last two weeks ... five vehicles were reported stolen.

Denning says it's rare for any crime to happen in hicksville.but when it does ... the community is always able to help.

3 the ohio fire marshal's office is offering a 5-thousand dollar reward for any information leading to an arrest
