Driving lesson gone wrong: Young learner accidentally accelerates and crashes into his neighbours in south India

A young learner driver accidentally accelerated his vehicle and crashed into a family of neighbours in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, injuring one.

The incident took place on February 2 in the city of Salem, as surveillance footage shows a yellow car slowly enter a street then the driver struggles to reverse the vehicle.

Meanwhile, a family of six riding on two bikes enter the street and park the vehicles in front of their house.

Next, the car suddenly accelerates and hits the family, with a woman having her leg pinned under the front of the car.

Neighbours rush and try to move the halted car in order to free the woman's leg.

The instructors immediately step out of the backseat and help reverse the vehicle as the shocked driver is unable to react.
