Easily accessible for voters.

For local hospitals... it's "not" about "if" "the corona-virus" will hit..

It's a matter "of when".

That's why "union hospital" in terre haute is "not" taking any chances.

News 10's "alia blackburn"..

Shows us..

Just how they're working "ahead" "of th outbreak".

////////////// alia: if you follow union health on facebook, you probably saw this post on their page a few hours ago earlier in the day, and it's actually why we're here tonight... and when you see this equipment it's in response to the coronavirus, covid-19... and officials want you to know it's not about being scared... this is about being prepared.

It's not hard to miss this mobile medical unit at union hospital.

Right in front of its emergency entrance... officials say this is what preparedness looks like.

This equipment comes with the necessary tools... and space... to treat patients with covid-19 symptoms. the tents and trailers include lighting... heating and cooling... a surgical suite... and even a mobile e-r- unit.

Officials say this would only be used if union saw a significant number of people needing treatment.

While this is all about being ahead of the game... leaders say the possibilties... of this virus hitting here at home... is nothing to take lightly.

Sot - barry nicoson, ems emergency preparedness coordinator / union hospital "we grabbed a hold of this.

Our incident command made the decision let's reach out, let's see what we can get, put it here and get it set up because we need to be prepared if something happens... you know, we're ready.

If it doesn't, great... we set it up and it takes me 10 minutes to take it back down."

Alia: now we understand you have a lot of questions right now about the coronavirus, and union health actually has a coronavirus hotline set up.

That number is also online at wthi-tv-dot-com.

Reporting in terre haute, alia blackburn, back to you.
