Boys basketball teams across the state of indiana..

64 sectional champions..

A season put on hold..

Athletic careers are potentially over..

Rossville one of those teams..

The hornets were scheduled to play wapahani in last saturday's regional semi-final..

I caught up with head coach cory dunn and company about everything that's transpired since the end of last week..

Cory: it was like someone just punched you in the gut honestly.

Dirk: i was kind of like in shock.

You know me being a senior.

Reid: it was tough.

We've grown up playing together.

A week ago, we took a walk inside the hive at rossville..

Silent nat bobby: the ihsaa boys basketball tournament is postponed immediately.

Friday's announcement from ihsaa commissioner bobby cox put a halt on rossville's season for now.

Dirk: you know me being a senior, that could potentially be the last game that i played saturday at webo and i mean it was just kind of hard to swallow.

The finality of a high school career coming to an end..

Reid: knowing that we can't come back and play with dirk.

It's just rough to know that we can't play with those seniors if they do end up canceling it.

For athletes like dirk shaw and reid douglas, the pandemic means the end of a season, or a career.

Reid: i started crying, because like it's just, it's over.

Like you think it's over, you don't know if it's going to happen again.

For the 2019-2020 rossville hoops team, there's a lot of what might have been.

But this group can always hang their hat on history.

Reid: i remember the sectional championship game.

At the beginning of the game i took all the starting five and i pointed at the crowd.

And i was like, did you see what we did?

And that was somhgecial.
