Kroger is one of those businesses.
The store chain has alreadty hired more than 23-thousand workers nationwide.
A store spokesperson says many of these new workers had been recently laid-off from restaurants and hotels -- places hard-hit by the covid-19 response.
Kroger is still hiring.
Individual stores in illinois and indiana still need 35 new associates on average.

Stores across the country have adjusted their hours during the coronavirus pandemic.
Some are offering special hours for the elderly and people with compromised immune systems. the hours have also changed to give store employees time to clean and restock shelves.
Kroger store hours are now 7am to 9pm.
7 to 8am monday through thursday is exclusively for shoppers 60 and over.
Most walmart most walmart stores are now open from 7am to 8:30pm.
Through april 28th... walmart stores will open an hour earlier on tuesdays for shoppers 60 and over.
Dollar general stores are catering to older customers the first hour of each shopping day.
Stores are also closing an hour earlier than normal to give staff more time to clean and restock.
All of these stores are hiring
