At home.

Some of you have told us...you're worried people aren't following social distancing guidelines well enough.

In fact, one urban county councilman in lexington says he's gotten so many complaints from his constituents...he reached out to us to for help.

Abc 36's monica harkins talked to several councilmembers who all agree nice weather isn't worth ruining weeks of social distancing efforts.

You've seen photos of crowded stores...like this one in lexington....showing lines of people...closer than six-feet apart.

It's moments like this - that urban county councilman james brown says he's heard an overwhelming amount about.

Brown: "i've been getting phone calls about - from constituents that have concerns about seeing large crowds."

So much so - he felt he wanted his people to hear from him.

Brown: "the next step is to put a face to the message that looks like some of the people that we need to adhere to what's going on."

He says another part of the problem for his district- the northern part of downtown lexington - is that it's densely populated.

Monica: "brown says when people feel like they can barely walk out their front doors.

Without being in arms reach their neighbors."

Brown: "and, not a lot of people have big backyards and big front yards to go sit out on their porches."

Councilwoman kathy plomin represents the 12th district - with 70- percent of her area being rural, as expected, she hasn't heard as many complaints.

Kathy: "the only complaint i've been hearing is yard, about yard trash."

Which the city isnt picking up right now.

At-large councilman richard moloney...who represents all of lexington...has received fewer calls this week compared to last...but it's only the beginning.

Moloney: "it's still going to be a long way folks.

The weather is really going to break this week and be really nice, and we just, we gotta be patient."

In an effort to stop gatherings, mayor linda gorton closed recreational areas like basketball courts...and police are around to enforce social distancing..in lexington, monica harkins, abc 36 news weather animation
