Officials in Madison County held their weekly press briefing regarding coronavirus.

Madison county health department and the madison county board of supervisors provided their weekly press briefing earlier this morning.

Madison county is reporting that cases are still on the rise, and that the county is aggressively preparing in the event there is a surge in cases.

Health officials are looking into the possibility of utilizing pop-up hospitals.

They're now working on identifying locations and resources to make that happen.

Sot: eric faisst, director of public health madison county we're using our own models to identify where our possible peak could be, which seem to be in the next 2-3 weeks.

We're using the state and federal models and just plugging our numbers into it, and then we're preparing for that.

We don't have all the stuff that we need yet, you know similar to when you hear the governor talk about they still have to get&likewise it's the same for us.

We're trying to identify where those resources are going to come from.

How do we get them lined up in the event, and at the time that we're going to need them.

So right now it's a lot of aggressive planning.

As part of a containment strategy, madison county currently has one hundred and seventy people in quarantine.

That doesn't mean they have the virus, but have been potentially exposed to someone who has the virus.

They're asking people to maintain strict social distancing, and practice good hygiene especially within the next couple weeks.
