Area businesses that don't follow guidelines will be fined

Guidelines...and now there will be consequences.

Governor cuomo is calling on local governments to be more strict with enforcing social distance violations.

He's raised the potential maximum fine from 500 dollars to one thousand dollars.

Over the weekend county anthony picente executive spoke about the essential business social distance enforcement in conjunction with the oneida county sheriff's and the district attorney.

Picente says this all goes into effect starting today.

A special sheriff's detail will investigate.

After a formal warning is issued.

A second violation results in the $1000 fine and possible revocation of health permit and liquor license.
