The federal government is working hard to make sure small businesses can keep paying workers during this pandemic.

Today the ?s senate passed a bill that designates hundreds of billions of dollars in new funding so businesses can make payroll.

And bankers... the payroll protection program was a hot topic.

It took a little less than 2 weeks to completely drain 35?

Billion dollars from the program... leaving many businesses without relief.

If this new bill passes?

It would offer up an additional 31?

Local banks are expressing frustration about the program... especially the 1?day lending rule and how the loan forgiveness will work.

Senator ernst explained the process might be a little rough, because the feds worked quickly to put the program together.

Xxx we pushed the package out so quickly for sba and treasury and to get all of those rules written, it wasn't completely ironed out before those programs were put into place.
