Hundreds plan to rally to re-open Oregon

For oregon uniting for liberty about the message they want the capitol to hear.

Oregon uniting for liberty says they're expecting at least 500 people to join in the rally planned for may 2nd and they say they could see a few thousand -- all protesting for the state to re-open.

Adam says: the fact of the matter is we have to there's no other choice so far 542 people say they're planning to attend the rally at the state capitol this saturday -- for a they want to see the state re-opened immediately.

Adam says: "do i think businesses like restaurants could open up with 50% capacity and social distancing guidelines i do actually" adam says, they are advocating for a slower opening approach but they want to see it happening now.

Adam says: "we're not going to be there to define or encourage businesses to just go boogaloo and open up we understand that this virus has a real serious component to it especially if you're at risk" adam says keeping the state closed does more harm than good.

In a public statement on march 24th, portland's police chief said they have seen an increase in suicide calls since the stay- home save-lives order.

Adam says it's not just about one element.

Adam says: adam says: "destroying in economy doesn't necessarily save lives and if this continues on for a long time it would absolutely destroy lives and in some capacity it already has" southern oregon counties are working to draft plans for re-opening that they will submit to gov.

Curry, jackson and josephine counties have already submitted a letter to the governor in collaboration with two other oregon counties, requesting permission to begin phase one of re-opening.
