This morning, we're learning more information about a spike in coronavirus cases in tennessee.

Cases spiked 36 percent just days after the state began reopening.

Waay 31's rodneya ross joins us live with how people who live tennessee have mixed feelings on how things are going.

Restaurants in most tennessee counties reopened a week ago -- and retail stores reopened a few days later.

People in lincoln county have been taking advantage of the reopenings -- but the question remains: was it too soon?

The mayor of lincoln county told us the spike in cases are because of two state prisons and a meat processing plant being tested last week.

He said right now it's too soon to tell if reopening some industries has caused a spike in numbers.

Some people we spoke to said they're still hesitant about getting back into the swing of things while others told us they're happy to have some normalcy back in their lives.

I'm not eager to get back out, they offer to go services, and i'm not concerned with that at all i'm still going to be you know very precautious."

Butt to michael mann, john maddox, dining in tennesse: "i think everybody's ready to go on with their lives and things get back open and back to normal.

The lincoln county mayor told us he wishes more people would wear masks in public -- something not mandated by the state.

Tomorrow -- close contact businesses like hair salons are expected to reopen in 89 of tennessee's 95 counties.

This doesn't include larger cities like nashville.
