Kimmel.

All of us at waay 31 want to take a moment to say "thank you" to all of you.

Today is giving tuesday.

It's the culmination of our "take 5 to give 5" campaign to support the "community foundation of greater huntsville" and their commitment to help those hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic.

We are thrilled to announce we raised a grand total of six hundred and 69 thousand, 784 dollars!

Of course - we couldn't have done it without you - and the generous support and partnership of the huntsville- madison county chamber of commerce, toyota manufacturing, and nearly a dozen other local companies who helped.

Sot 2:22-25 melissa thompson "our community is so incredibly generous!"

Track: melissa thompson is the president and c-e-o of the community foundation of greater huntsville.

They support dozens of non-profit organizations in our north alabama community.

She joined us tonight in our studio to tell us how this came together in just a matter of weeks.

Sot: melissa thompson 1:33-51 "back in mid march, our community foundation recognized that there were going to be many non-profits who were serving on the front lines of this current covid crisis.

So we activated our emergency relief fund on march 16th.

Our donors came in and began supporting the effort in a big way."

Track: all the money raised will stay right here in north alabama - helping people and groups working tirelessly to help those who may be in trouble now through no fault of their own.

Claier aiello with the huntsville madison county chamber of commerce says dozens of organizations will recieve support through the "take 5 to give 5" partnership.

Sot: claire aiello 18:09-26 "since covid 19 started to show up... please go ahead and give."

Track: hundreds of you at home - along with corporate donors made a big difference.

Toyota manufacturing chipped in more than 100- thousand dollars.

Toyota's kim ogle told us tonight to thank everyone who donated - and to remond you that help is available if you need it.

Sot: kim ogle, toyota 23:50-00 "i would encourage that if you are in need, that you reach out to your local non- profits because they can servew as a gateway to getting you the resources that you need, that you might not be aware of."

Track: other corporate donors included aerojet rocketdyne foundation - and iron-mountain solutions - raytheon - redstone federal credit union and facebook - who today announced a 100-thousand dollar donation!

Sot: katie comer, facebook 25:32-42 "and now more than ever, we can't thank our community enough for all they're doing during this challenging time.

From the bottom of our hearts at facebook, thank you for all that you're doing.

Again - on behalf of toyota, the huntsville-madison county chamber of commerce, and those of us at waay 31 t-v - thank you to everyone who contributed
