Restaurants prepare to reopen Thursday

Restaurants in Mississippi are allowed to reopen beginning Thursday morning at 8:00 but with restrictions.

Wtva's chelsea brown is live in saltillo where one restaurant owner is working on plans to keep staff and customers safe old town steakhouse and eatery in saltillo is a fairly new business.

The owners opened in late january, right before the outbreak of the coronavirus.

I spoke with robby whitcher the owner about how thankful he is to be able to reopen the doors to the public.

Again i would really like to thank the support of the community for the last couple months" ever since whitcher had to close the dining room, he has been offering curbside service.

I spoke with whitcher about how he plans to keep customers and the staff at safe distances.

"rearranging some of the tables and all of our staff will have gloves and masks" whitcher hired janpro to come and do a deep cleaning of the entire restaurant tomorrow before reopening the dining area.

He says before customers enter the restaurant, they will be asked a few questions as well as have their temperature checked.
