The governor... eight more kentuckians have died because of the virus.

We have lost a total of 283 people.

He also says there are 159 new confirmed cases.... with the state now at 5,934 total.

The governor also announced the state has issued a new travel ban.

You may recall... a judge issued an injunction against governor beshear's travel ban.

He says the travel ban has now been amended to look more like ohio's... which the court recommended.

Among the changes... if you are traveling through the state for less than 24 hours... you don't need to self quarantine for 14- days.

The governor also talked about the frustration by fayette county officals with the lack of cooperation from the federal medical center... one of the hotspots of the coronavirus outbreak.

Because it is a federal prison... he says the state does not have jurisdiction.

However... the governor says they are encouraging anyone who works at the facility to get tested.
