Core Butte Charter seniors celebrate graduation

Hundreds of Core Butte High School students celebrated their graduations with a drive-thru ceremony in Chico.

Kristian has more on the unique way these seniors are celebrating..

Debbie its a drive thru celebration but some people are also choosing to stand outside of their cars.

This all kicked off about an hour ago.

Around 100 graduates will be walking across the stage tonight receiving their diplomas while their proud friends and family watch from a distance.

Some people out here are wearing masks, others choosing not to.

I spoke with one graduate who says she's thankful the school still put something on for them.

There were also speeches from students and faculty.

The staff says they know this isn't a typical ceremony but they are excited to be able to provide this opportunity for their students.
