Caleb Simonis, 19, and Shelby Simonis, 16, were killed in the crash.

Are still processing a horrific car crash that claimed the lives of two out of three siblings from sweet home.

Kezi nine news reporter connor mccarthy tells their reaction and what the family is doing to remember their children.

A rock... painted with the names of three siblings sits on the central linn high school campus.

A memorial to 19 year old caleb simonis and his sister shelby... killed after being hit by a drunk diver.

"hearing young kids killed in a car accident is the same thing that happened to me with my son who was a central linn graduate."

Their 15-year-old sister... kylee survived and is recovering at a local hospital.

"we're a really small town really tight knit group and so that when something happens here everyone comes together."

The three were headed back to sweet home from their mothers vetrinary clinic in brownsville when oregon state police say they were hit by 21 year old austyn hillsman.

"it a larger impact on a smaller school like ours because the kids know each other so well it even a harder hit to them."

Connor: "all afternoon there has been a steady stream of people coming up to this memorial set up at the central linn campus.

People laying flowers and paying their respects to the three simonis children involved in saturday's car crash."

A go fund me page was set up over the weekend to help out the simonis family.

At last check over 44 thousand dollars have been donated.

The family says they wanted their childrens lives to remembered here... and not at the scene of the crash.

"on the back of it says stay strong and that all we can do, just continue with our lives and just stay strong.

Make everything better we can because that what caleb and shelby would have wanted."

The suspect....21 year old austyn hillsman pled guilty to assault and menancing in lane county just last year.

He was sentenced to 10 days in jail and three years of probation.
