Mower county is seeing a dramatic spike in covid?

"*19 cases.

Kimt news three maleeha kamal talked to the health department to find out why.

Look live: i spoke with mower county health and human service here at the government center and they give me some insight on why we are seeing a spike in the area.

Mower county reported 40 new cases today.

According to this chart of our viewing area... out of 18 counties... mower county has the second highest number of cases: 406.

Earlier this week mower county health and human services reported an alarming increase of 150 cases over the week before.

Pam kellogg with the department says they have identiifed key areas.

"looking at one of our hotspots in the county is the qpp plant and also at hormel.

So we are working with the two plants to see if we can get some mass testing done with their employees.

She anticipates the number of cases will increase as the state begins to reopen.

Kellog also tells mw that they are working with the state to the spike isn't isolated to mower county.

Today freeborn county public health reported 17 new lab confirmed cases of covid?

Bringing the freeborn county total to 159 cases.
