The CCCAA rolled out three different scenarios on how schools can play this season, depending on where the state is in its reopening on July 17th.

It says this is the standard recommendations, but individual colleges can opt out if they feel it is unsafe.

Now sports director vanessa romo sat down with the athletic director on where the roadrunners stand.

I know coaches get anxious and people get anxious to have deadlines and they want to know what we're doing but right now we just don't know& the governing board for community college athletics rolled out three different plans on how schools can play this season& the association will decide on one of them based on where california's reopening stands on july 17th.

If california is at a level four then we will be able to go ahead with fall sports as sort of a normalized opportunity and we will have contact and non- contact sports..

But schedules will be reduced because health officials anticipate a second wave.

If california is in phase three& colleges will only play non- contact or minimal contact sports in the fall, while contact sports--- like football move to spring--- we're going to have to plan for three different scenarios and only one is going to happen, but we rather over plan too much then not have a plan in place& butte college's additional plans include travel, testing, sanitinzing, fans and more& they're going to want to have a comprehensive plan on how to deals with the safety of our athletes.

Because we all want to play sports, i can give you a million reasons why its important but the number one thing that are president and leadership wants is the safety of our student athletes& at butte college vanessa romo action news coverage you can count on.

If california is only in stage two& only cross country and women's golf will be played in the fall& while others move to the spring.

But again--- butte college will ultimately decide whether or not its safe to play.
